Here is everything you need to know about the favourite festive event on the royal calendar
What is the royal carols Together at Christmas 2025?
Kate’s Together at Christmas carol service took place on Friday, December 5, 2025.
Prince William, Kate, and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, stayed at their London home to attend the special night.
The event was held at Westminster Abbey in London, the same church where the Prince and Princess of Wales tied the knot.

“As we approach the Christmas season, we are reminded of the power of togetherness. The evening will highlight the transformative power of investing in one another with compassion, presence and joy,” a statement from the palace said.
The theme for the 2025 event was love.
“Whether it’s love within families, through friendships, across communities or even through powerful moments of connection with strangers. In a world that can often feel fragmented and disconnected, love is the force that reconnects us all – spanning generations, communities, cultures, and faiths,” the palace said.
Supported by The Royal Foundation, Kate held her first Together at Christmas carol service in 2021 as a tribute to those who went above and beyond for others during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, it paid tribute to and thank those who are acting with love in their communities, contributing to a more cohesive, connected society.
Where can I watch Kate’s carols service?
While the event is held in early December, it is shown on TV in the UK on Christmas Eve.
However, that doesn’t mean we miss out on seeing it in Australia.

The ABC has shown the past four Christmas carols services on TV on Christmas Day.
In 2025, this years carols service airs on the ABC at 5:30pm.
Royal fans can catch the King’s Christmas speech on the same channel at 3:27pm and 7:30pm.
If that still isn’t enough royal content, the 2025 Royal Variety Performance, which was attended by the Prince and Princess of Wales, will also air on the ABC at 7:40pm, immediately following the evening broadcast of the King’s speech.

Lady in green
The Princess of Wales looked sensational as she arrived in Westminster Abbey wearing a festive green coat from Catherine Walker.

Family fun
When the Wales children arrived, George, Charlotte and Louis added their names to a decorative chain on the tree, which symbolised togetherness.

Charlotte’s big moment
In a heartwarming video shared at the event, Princess Charlotte joined her mother at the piano for a duet. The pair played Holm Sound by Erland Cooper. The musical moment was captured a week earlier at Windsor Castle. The footage was shown with a voice over of Kate reading her letter welcoming guests.

Reunion of Kate’s
Because one Kate is never enough, the princess greeted Kate Winslet, who gave a reading during the service.

Unreluctant guests
Eugene Levy is racking up quite the collection of royal invites this year. After being invited by Prince WIlliam to Windsor Castle for a private tour, he was also a guest at Kate’s carols service.
